3) With reference to Alexander’s (and additionally, Wilkinson’s works), as well as some media interviews links for this week: Despite the U.S.’s claims to the world leadership of democracy and human rights: What else do we learn about the reality of race relations in the U.S. today?
4) What can social movements and local communities do to ensure protection and expansion of civil rights (equality, no discrimination on the basis of race or ethnic group/ descendance, caste, religion, national origin… )? Can you think of any historical or contemporary examples or alternatives ( in the US or around the world)?
