Each student is required to prepare a typewritten report based on and detailing the inspection of a building in your area and the development of a pre-plan, and a plot plan to ensure the safety of occupants and responders. The report must be a minimum of 4 text pages (not counting title and reference pages) and must be formatted according to APA 7th Edition guidelines. In addition to the 4 pages of text, a preplan form (which I have provided below or one from your department) shall be submitted detailing specific information and an attack plan for the structure as well as a plot plan (simple drawing of the complex that includes all the necessary information to quickly understand the location of many of the items found in your pre-plan). When choosing the structure keep in mind it should be one that would present a challenge during an emergency response and/or be of a great loss to the community. Required Details Your 4 page paper will consist of the following: A. Discuss the specifics of the building (building name (if any), occupancy, address, and responding department):B. The structures construction and use history:C. The type of construction used in the building:D. The impact of the structure’s construction and layout on firefighting and other emergency operations (especially fire behavior, smoke movement and collapse potential):E. Life hazards: F. The buildings safety features: G. Discuss whether or not this building is up to code for your area? H. How does access and water flow affect the problems that you have identified?I. What would be the impact on the community if the structure was lost? Additional material to be turned in: J. Develop a preplan using the sample that I have provided or one used by your own department: K.
