Regarding the final empirical project which is going to be due on the day of the final exam for this class: In a nutshell, this project is basically the empirical part of a research paper, where you highlight your research question, identify dependent, independent, and control variables, argue why you have chosen these variables, and provide an introduction to the data, where the data source is, explain your model, present your results, and discuss your results. For the final project, I need you to do an in-depth empirical analysis of your research question at hand. Ideally, I would like to see 7-10 graphs and tables which includes: 1. Scatter plots 2. Descriptive statistics 3. Correlation and Regression results When you want to include a table or graph ask yourself “does this table/graph convey any useful information to my readers in regard to my research question”? Make sure the answer is positive before you include it. Moreover, the choice of how to organize a table, which graph to use, etc… must be in a way to make it as friendly for your audience to understand the point/argument you are trying to convey. So, please take good care of the organization of tables and the types of graphs that you would want to include. This does not have to be a novel idea and you should not focus on finding data for a new idea. The objective here is to see if how well you can formulate empirical questions and answer them using statistical analysis and econometrics. So, choose an empirical research question for which the data is readily available and easy to access and download. However, if you manage to make this exercise in line with your MSc thesis(open Banking in Qatar), it would be ideal as you will save time in the future. please use Stata program for the analysis and send me data source and do file.
